At a public forum held in late August and organized by Rep. Jared Huffman, California state government officials, Indigenous leaders, and scientists called for the energy company PacifiCorp to immediately decommission and remove four of its Klamath River dams, claiming that the dams have decimated Northern California and Southern Oregon’s salmon fisheries, hurt local tribal communities, and poisoned the Klamath.
